Ten Class 93s for the UK

Rail Operations (UK) Limited, parent company of Rail Operations Group, has placed a £40m order with Stadler for ten tri-mode Class 93s.  The locos will run on either electric, diesel or battery power and will be leased from Beacon Rail.  Construction will take place at Valencia in Spain, with the first example due to arrive in the UK in August 2020.  The design is based on the Class 68/88 outline so as to speed up the design, production, delivery and approvals process.
